MC2 Katrina Parker has just given us a great look inside of some work the Joint Systems Integration Center is doing with its Joint Systems Baseline Assessment. They are working with some cutting edge technology to ensure it can help commanders and their staffs make good decisions. An added benefit is it is directly supporting the work the command is doing with Empire Challenge, the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance demonstration we’ve been telling you about that is going on at several sites around the world.

Is JSIC using K2 blackpearl to do the coalition data sharing and interoperability? The SmartObject technology is built for such a scenario and have seen it in action in other DOD organizations.
Paul, we are not, but if you can contact me via normal e-mail (francis.hunt@jfcom.mil) I would like to learn more about it and see if and/or how we can employ it. I would also encourage you to find out about what we are using.

Would like to know if Network Centric Collaborative Targeting is being considered in the assessment. Thanks.
Lt Col Steve Sunderlin
Lt Col Sunderlin, our primary targeting system assessment efforts took place during Austere Challenge ‘09, and I’ve forwarded your question to the Targeting Objective Lead, Bruce Brunn. By some folks point of view, yes. But without knowing your definition of Network Centric Collaborative Targeting cannot attest one way or the other. Bottom line, come on over. We are kind of swamped through this Thursday, but Friday or next week could be good. Frank 203-4022
Frank,
Thanks for answering these questions. This is just what we intended this forum to be when we rolled it out.
