EC10 on the horizon

In a little more than a month, I will lead a team from USJFCOM to Fort Huachuca to provide coverage of Empire Challenge 10, an annual intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance interoperability demonstration.

I’ve been in close contact with John Kittle, the EC10 program manager, and recently talked to him about where his team is with preparations for this year’s event. He said everyone was excited to get out there and show what they’ve worked on.

This year’s emphasis is on Afghanistan and the challenges are warfighters encounter over there.

We chose Fort Huachuca based on the requirements we identified very early on.  We decided that we needed to focus on the fight in Afghanistan and provide improvements or solutions to the problems they have over there.  So, we looked and Fort Huachuca presented the right operating environment for us.  It has a good mix of the kinds of environment they have in Afghanistan – the desert, mountains, valleys, vegetation.

You can read the story here. When the event happens, I’ll be blogging on this site and Air Force Staff Sgt. Vanessa Valentine will be constantly adding new images to our Flikr site.
